Sonja Field

Dialect Coach

“Sonja was absolutely fantastic to work with. She has an extraordinary ear, and can pick up the tiniest sound detail. She also has terrific tricks and tips with which to perfect the accent, and a very useful and thorough daily warm-up to ensure that you are always ready for filming. Best of all, she finds ways to connect the accent with the character you are playing, so that these two preoccupations don’t remain separated. I would make her contractual if I could in all future work involving accents!

Juliet Stevenson (The Man Who Fell to Earth)

“Sonja has a very calming influence when working on voice and dialects, which imbues you with a sense of confidence in, and ownership of the role. Her guidance is thorough and given in a concise and efficacious manner. She is able to make the work enjoyable, whilst keeping the atmosphere focussed. To be able to build a background and a story behind a character’s voice allows for creative freedom for the actor and a great sense of play within the work, which is a skill in and of itself. Sonja is a true collaborator, an approachable and generous person and someone I would highly recommend to any of my acting colleagues.”
